I was beginning to plan out my next adventure, thinking Africa might be nice. Looked into it, found that the small day trips into the veldt were often hung up due to circumstances beyond their control:

These airplanes are called "Islanders." We take people out to the Channel Islands and land on a dirt strip out there. You can go for the day or some people camp out there for days at a time. (I'm not a camper especially to a place where you have to bring your own water)
hahah! I wonder if sea lions would make such an imposing gauntlet?! good idea, Terri, funny you should mention going to the Channel Islands.. I'm going there THIS weekend!
